WHO WE ARE

The Committee Against Pretrial Racism is a collective of system impacted community members and their families, grassroots  organizers, attorneys, and civil rights activists who don’t want to see the carceral system expanded and empowered in the name of “bail reform.” The Committee Against Pretrial Racism is committed to eradicating structural bias  from the criminal justice system  in California. We aim to build a justice system that is founded on preserving the presumption of innocence and treating people with humanity and respect.
